Whether you’re looking for a fun, safe place for your teenager to hang out this summer or you’re in planning mode for the school year, Tacoma Public Schools and community partners have you covered.

Summer Late Nights
This free program for families gives middle and high school students a safe, fun place to connect all summer long. Register and drop in at any of the 10 locations around Tacoma. Summer Late Nights runs every weeknight from 5-10 p.m. through Aug. 28.

Beyond the Bell and Club B
Both Beyond the Bell and Club B after-school programs will run at all elementary and middle schools during the school year. They will continue to offer eight-week sessions, starting in September. Programs run two hours a day, Monday/Wednesday and Tuesday/Thursday.

Mark your calendar with these registration dates:

• Session 1 registration: Aug. 31-Sept. 13
• Session 2 registration: Nov. 2-Nov. 15
• Session 3 registration: Jan. 25-Feb. 7
• Session 4 registration: April 5-April 18

Beyond the Bell and Club B are extended learning opportunities; they offer fun but structured after-school activities, rather than daily childcare. Beyond the Bell serves students in grades K-5, and Club B serves grades 6-8. (See below for information about daily childcare options.)

Program fees
Beyond the Bell will cost $100 per program. Club B will cost $50 per program.

Families who qualify for McKinney-Vento or financial assistance through the CNEEB form may receive Beyond the Bell and Club B programs at a free or reduced cost ($10 for Beyond the Bell and $5 for Club B.)  

We will continue to share information about Beyond the Bell and Club B, including how to determine if you qualify for financial assistance.
 

Tacoma Childcare Collaborative
If you need an option that covers more days and hours each week, explore the Tacoma Childcare Collaborative. Programs run from Sept. 9-June 23, excluding federal holidays, for these hours:

• Before school: 7:15 a.m. to start of school day
• After school: End of school day to 6 p.m.

These programs are open to students who are 5-12 years old. They are run by a network of licensed providers who offer fair and consistent pricing.
